My Mosin Nagant 91/30
April 16th, 2008These fine rifles don’t even need any introduction IMHO. Another fine product of Mother Russia. Or as a friend of mine puts it “Is Mosin, is shoot da?” I call this particular weapon “Ma Bell” as she is my “reach out and touch somebody” rifle
Brief rundown, built in 1943 at the Izhevsk arsenal, and displays typical wartime rough machining. All serial numbers match, although I believe the magazine floorplate is force matched. This is my second 91/30. My first was a 1942 Tula with even rougher machining that had not been overhauled after The Great Patriotic War. I wish I still had that one too, it was classy and I had a lot of fun with it. Ma Bell is a keeper though, very accurate and simple. I love Russian weapons, they are simple and WORK. (Well except the Nagant revolver but that is a Belgian design, although the Mosin Nagant is half Belgian, Oh well.)
