Welcome to the Forum!
April 20th, 2008Ok folks. Everyone registered right now has “author” status. When you log in you can create unique content. When you get to the login meta page choose “write” you can write whatever you like. If you scroll down you will see checklist of places where you can publish your post. Make sure you choose “publish” from the drop down menu of the right, and then click “publish” in the box below that. POST ONLY FORUM, LOCAL or GUNS. Anywhere else I will move around or delete as a see fit. “Steve’s Blog” and “Vermin of the Week” are for yours truly only.
Local is for Olympia area. Anything else goes under “Forum”. “Guns” speaks for itself. I will delete all anti gun posts out of hand and write a nasty letter to anyone who posts such evil tirades. Of course you can still comment on anything I write on my reserved pages, just don’t put your own content under those two headings. This is a PG blog please. If you must use strong language, $%!@#$) works, or so does using the first letter of the word followed by dashes. We’ll get the idea.
To the refugees from Olyblog… Welcome! There are very few rules here, excepting what I have laid out above. I reserve the right to remove posts that are overly defamatory, demeaning to religions and racial groups, or that just plain annoy me. I’ve got pretty broad views, so as long as you are reasonably polite things should be just fine. I won’t delete on politics, but behavior.
On OpenCarry.Org the admin there reminds folks “we all carry guns, act accordingly.” Basically if you treat folks here like you would if you were sitting with them at a bar sharing a brew and burgers everything will be fine. Debate is welcome, hostile behavior isn’t.
That said, welcome to my odd little corner of the internet!

Well let’s kick this forum off!! It’s been sitting here idle too long.
What to talk about,,,,hmmmmmm?
How about this crappy weather. What’s up with snow in the middle of April in Western Washington. I’m sooo ready for spring or better yet summer, yet it seems more like winter. What is up with that!!??
I guess maybe the hippies are responsible. You know those dang hippies that believe humans are the cause of global warming. You see maybe they are correct! Heck yeah, because of all their bicycling, walking, skateboarding, etc. to work and elsewhere, they are producing less carbon. Less carbon means cooling….and baby we have cooling!!! If they keep it up we will be in an ice age in a couple more years.
Sorry Steve, I couldn’t resist!!
Besides I had to break in the forum with some silliness.

Hey Steve,
I’ll put my two cents worth here. The subject I write about is not heresay … unfortunately it’s first hand knowledge:
In this country 145 years ago, it was legal to own another human being. Planters wanted to profit by growing commodities. To access these means, they bought people. They didn’t just want to grow only what they could afford to hire laborers to tend. They wanted large profits. To satisfy this greed, they stole personal property rights from individuals. They whined that they HAD to do something to realize the profits they desired, but could not by themselves realize. History calls it “Slavery.”
Did we learn anything? Today in Washington State there are still (yes in the 21st Century) those who wish to profit by violating the personal property rights of others. The State lets them do it. We call them “Cattle owners.” The State and counties give them special interest rights to use the residential property of YOUR home (which YOU pay taxes on )to have legal and free access for their animals.
Cattleowners say they can’t realize their profits without using YOUR property. YOU get to wade through cow dung in your front yard, and repair septic lines the herds have trampled. YOUR children get to be prisoners inside their house because of the long horned cattle now in YOUR yard which terrify them.
If you injure one of the Plantation owners (oops, I mean cattleman’s) cattle … YOU can go to jail! All of this free use of YOUR land is made possible by the State’s “Open-Range” laws.
In this state, a piece of food has more rights than YOU!

Is that true about the Cattle? I know, based on complaints from property owners, that we have to let Native Americans hunt on our property EVEN IF WE’RE ANTI-HUNTING or DON’T WANT IT ON OUR LAND. Not to mention what they’re allowed to do to someone’s privately owned beach property. That’s a sore subject at Boston Harbor (I remember one former neighbor asked Sheriff Edwards if he needed to build a ramp to his house so that any Indians in a wheelchair could use his bathroom.
As for Steve reserving the Right to remove posts that just plain annoy him - well, of course he should. This is his site. He doesn’t even need a reason. I just appreciate that HE at least is man enough to say that’s what he’ll do if he desires instead of trying to cover it with muddled explanations.

Yup, true about the cattle. I’ll do a longer piece in a few days I hope.
